I have a small jewelry business and just started a website. I would like to announce it and reach people all over. I really need names ( a free mailing list) and adresses. i do not have any extra money to invest and already do what i can to network locally.

I am marketing a product to seniors of a specific area defined by zip code or city. Where can I find a mailing list?

If so, why is it legal to purchase mailing lists with the intention to send out mass mailings and make telemarketing campaigns? Will someone please help me with the legalities of this practice? I have been researching it for days. Laws regarding email and electronic spam are very clear, but snail mail is much fuzzier.

I am asking for my mother. She doesn’t necessarily want to make money off them, her purpose is to use her blog (once popular) and use it as references to possibly help her get a newspaper article. She has a title for one called “Answers to Life’s Problems”. Where can she post blogs and they become popular? She posted it already on WordPress but there are 3 million people posting blogs hers gets lost in the mix. Any suggestions?

I have heard good and bad things about email marketing services. They claim to allow users to send spam free messages to thousands of leads. I don’t want to spend the money if no one will ever get the message, or if it really is spam. Does these email marketing services work? Or does anyone have a low cost service they recommend?

Our company has an email list from an event we held last year. The email list was from people who registered online or via faxed form for the event, but we neglected to include an “opt-in” check box for future emails.

Are we allowed to send a one-time email blast out to those people (with opt-out information in the email) for the same event this year without being considered spammers?
