I’ve been coming across a lot of emails or blog posts which have “J” written at the end of a sentence. It seems like it’s signifying a smile or a grin, but I’m not sure… Anyone who knows about this?

Its something weird Microsoft Outlook does. I assume you’re using a different email program, different from MS Outlook.

I don’t know how or why MS Outlook does this, but it does, often.

You have to look in the header of the email to see what’s going on, but the J is the results of the wingding encoded by something like Outlook’s mail program as a smilie and it can not be rendered by your mail client.

This is an example of what you may find in the header. Text content of your message will differ:

This email is trying to be funny J< o:p>

Spaces added to some tags to show code.

You can see where it’s stying to style a wingding which your email client doesn’t know how to handle.

Ha ha, those are some complicated answers… ‘J’ just means ‘Joking’ or ‘Jokes’!
It just signifies that someone is making a joke.
