Have you completed college yet? It’s a good idea to obtain a 4 year college degree so that it’ll increase your chances of making it into a cockpit even though it’s not required.

That’s a long, long, long road. Start with your local airport (a small one, not the major airports) and visit some of the flying clubs. You have to start with a private pilot license and work your way up. Find an instructor that you like and get along with – talk with quite a few. I recommend someone older, as many young instructors are simply in it to build their hours – you need one who is in it to teach you. Also, someone who has a schedule that is flexible or similar to yours. It ***** when you’re free and the instructor is not. Also, choose a club with several trainer airplanes (not just two or three). You want to make sure that they have one available when you’re going to need it. And forget the “four year college” for now – if this is your goal. Find out if you like it first – then take the four year plunge. Good Luck.
