what is exchange email when it comes to cell phones?

i was tryin to find info on an unlimited plan with the motorola droid. i came across a blog saying that its exchange email service is an exra 15 bucks but i have no idea what exchange email is

it is email that is ‘pushed’ to your phone. my iphone does it for free, and it connects with google to ‘push’ (fancy way to say sync in real time over the air) my mail, calender, and contacts. I would recommend not getting it if they charge you…
