you cant send an email ofcourse because theres nothing to send it to without internet but if you are running microft outlook you can see all your emails and send them without internet and as soon as your internet turns back on it will update and send and receive any messages that have changed since your internet was last on. its great if your flying or on the road and want to keep up your work because as soon as you get to your destination your emails are all send in a couple of seconds!
