It seems like talking to oneself is considered mental insanity today which doesn’t make any sense because we all have thoughts we don’t verbalize to others, but we think them to ourselves and talking to ourselves is a way to privately express them without others hearing. And I’m sure everyone writes stuff down so they don’t forget so I don’t see why some people think emailing oneself is odd. One of the managers where I work felt it was wierd a person to email oneself. I guess people talking to themselves end up in assylums or something.

You’re only dangerous if you can’t reach agreement among yourselves.

why email yourself ? why not just write it in a word document and title it journal or whatever. even make notes in your calendar program. i would say that emailing yourself is maybe a bit odd,

i dont see it as threatening though.

No–I email myself all the time. I have an email account I check all the time for work. Sometimes I want to remind myself when I get home to do something so I email myself. Then when I get home my email will pop up telling me I have a new msg. My msg will remind me to pick up the dry cleaning or whatever.

I don’t think that’s odd in the slightest.

As for talking to oneself, I don’t know anyone who thinks thats mental insanity. Nearly everyone does it. Now as you said the key phrase is “without others hearing”. If you are talking to yourself around other people and they keep thinking you are talking to them, you’ll get some weird looks. But if no one can hear, who is there to think you are insane. And I can’t recall the last time I went to the grocery store and didn’t hear someone chanting to themselves their grocery list.

It makes perfect sense to email yourself if you’re afraid of forgetting something or need to remind yourself of something, and I don’t see anything wrong with talking to yourself, unless of course you’re talking to multiple selves and they’re talking back. Maybe don’t talk to yourself around other people if it bother them.

I was once told that I talk to myself too much…it was the only negative thing said at a job evaluation. guess they had to find something. I don’t work there anymore and still talk to myself. We are our own best friends.
And i e-mail things to myself that i want to remember.

You are NOT alone.

NO! We all have quirks that help us through the day’s tasks.

When I put an appointment in my calendar, I check the e-mail box to send myself a reminder 3-2 days before the date.

Grocery shopping is best–I read the labels out loud and make comments–my hubby enjoys it when he come shopping with me.

Man, I email stuff to myself, reminders or links to websites, all the time. I am very forgetful and this is one method I employ to avoid losing or forgetting valuable information. I am not crazy. There is nothing wrong with this.

You don’t need to email yourself. There are web pages wich have that service.
search for “remember the milk” on gogle an see it.
