…she didnt even have an agent, and it was like last year, and im pretty sure Harpercollins doesnt accept unsolicited manuscripts, let alone manuscripts via email….so how did this person get to publish her book this way, it deosnt make sense, how can they even look at emails seriously?

She who? Who says she submitted a manuscript by e-mail to get a deal?

That’s not how publishing works. First a contract gets signed with a concept (outline + beginning, usually; may be sparse if already published elsewhere), then the manuscript happens.
